The research at SOFI is organised in three units: Labour Market Economics, Stratification and Level-of-living, and Social Policy. In many research projects we cooperate across these units and across disciplines. The PhD candidates at SOFI are enrolled in the PhD programmes at the Departments of Economics and Sociology.
More than half of the research activities are funded by external sources, primarily the national research councils. For a many years much of the research at SOFI has been based on large databases which the researchers themselves have built. More about data
